Masonic District One Annual Convention 05/16/2012
Host lodge is Cavite Lodge No 2 The Sixth Annual Convention of Masonic District One opens on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Cavite Lodge Masonic Center, Cavite City. Host Cavite Lodge No 2, shall be opened at six o’clock in the morning by ceremonial officers representing member lodges of the district. Plenary session to be presided by VW Crisostomo Mira, District Grand Supervisor follows after the opening and preliminary proceedings. The district convention is one of the venues for the exercise of legislative powers of lodges. The convention considers two types of legislative proposals, through resolutions: proposals for the benefit of the district which may include supplementary provisions or amendments to the existing district by-laws; and proposals for consideration of the Grand Lodge during its annual grand assembly held in the last week of November. District level resolutions consistent with the IGLPI constitution and its various codes, when approved become part of the District Council’s governing rules or policies. Grand Lodge level proposals on the other hand are subject to the endorsement of the district before these are submitted to the Legislative Council for considertion during the annual grand assembly. Under the IGLPI Administrative Code Section 3, Article III - Legislative Powers, one of the means to enact new laws and amendments to the Constitution, enabling codes and all existing legislations is: (3.1) "By resolution of the member lodges through their District Council, passed and recommended by the Legislative Council, and adopted by the Grand Assembly." The district convention is also expected to formally announce the host lodge of the 2013 Annual District Convention and endorse three recommendees for District Grand Supervisor for appointment by the next by the Grand Master. Freedom Lodge No 10, Clark, Pampanga is host The Sixth Annual Grand Assembly of IGLPI was held on November 25-26 at the Officers Club in Airforce City, Clark Freeport Economic Zone in Mabalacat, Pampanga. Grand Lodge was opened by Deputy Grand Master RW Roberto Landas at nine o'clock in the morning. After his reception, Grand Master Cesar Go received the Past Grand Masters and presided over the succeeding ceremonies. A tribute to the flag was rendered by WM Rowelito M. Pallera of Pilar Lodge No 3. VW Eduardo Victa in his grand oration revisited the history of true Philippine Masonry and the contributions of Filipino Masons in the struggle for independence. In the subsequent plenary session, the assembly approved a resolution proposed by President Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Lodge No 5 which provided for at least quarterly regular meetings of the different IGLPI Councils: Executive, Legislative, Judicial and the Council of Elders. (Regular meetings were not prescribed in the Administrative Code.) A resolution revising the system of hosting and preparation for Grand Lodge and District events was also approved. Alvarez, Deputy Grand Master; RW Javier del Rosario, Grand Senior Warden; RW Ruben Romanes, Grand Junior Warden; RW Reynaldo Generillo, Grand Treasurer; RW Armando L. Quion, Grand Secretary and RW Roxy Sarmiento, Grand Auditor. They were installed, together with Masonic District One officers, by MWB Cesar de Leon Go. The Seventh Annual Grand Assembly in 2012 shall be hosted by Cavite Lodge No 2 and President Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Lodge No 5 Cavite Masons join City Government in commemoration activities ![]() Wreath laying/ PGM Ricafrente/ Masons portray the13 martyrs Bagong Buhay Lodge No 4 led IGLPI lodges and Masons in the observance of 115th anniversary of the martyrdom of the 13 Martyrs of Cavite on September 12, 2011. Commemoration activities, under the auspices of the city government were held at the Martyrs' monument in Samonte Park and at the Garita Elementary School campus. Guest speaker was Nicolas Ricafrente, Past Grand Master. Ten of the thirteen martyrs were Filipino Masons of Spanish Grand Orient Lodges in the country, charged with complicity in the 1896 revolution. A re-enactment of their arrest and execution, annotated by Bro Francis Gealogo was performed by Masons from different IGLPI lodges of Cavite. RW Amorico Alvarez, Senior Grand Warden and Cavite City councilor chaired the 13 Martyrs Day commemoration committee. IGLPI Fifth Founding Anniversary Medical & Dental Missions, September 10, 2011 Freedom Lodge No 10 acted as host and coordinating lodge as IGLPI celebrated its fifth founding anniversary on September 10, 2011 by conducting medical and dental missions at the NHA (National Housing Authority) multi-purpose hall at the Northville Resettlement Center in Barangay Atlu Bola, Mabalacat, Pampanga. Attending medical doctors were Benedict Iglesia and Sherwin Foronda of Pintong Bato Lodge; Raymundo Mandigal of Freedom Lodge; and lady physicians Julieta Patani Toledo and Aileen Feliciano. Dentists were Doctors Joel Pingul and Arnel Paulino Maccay of Freedom Lodge; Major Nolasco Tiongson of Pinagkaisa Lodge (GLP) and Captain Jhun Gloriani. The anniversary celebration started at 7:30 A.M with a thanksgiving mass followed by the welcome remarks of Bro Francis Dimaliwat, Senior Warden of Freedom Lodge and an inspirational message by Grand Master Cesar De Leon Go. More than 200 beneficiaries were served and given free medicine donated by Unilab and Freedom Lodge. A luncheon-fellowship was held in the afternoon attended by member lodges and the Ladies of IGLPI. Marcelo H. del Pilar (August 30, 1850-July 4, 1896) IGLPI lecture-symposium, August 28, 2011 Barasoain Lodge U.D. of Malolos, Bulacan hosted a commemorative program for the 161st birth anniversary of Marcelo H. del Pilar, Father of True Filipino Masonry, at the patriot’s shrine in Cupang, San Nicolas, Bulacan. The program was highlighted by a lecture given by Bro Francis A. Gealogo, professor of History at the University of the Philippines and Ateneo de Manila, Senior Warden of Bagong Buhay Lodge No 4. The activity was coordinated with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines by Masonic District 1 Supervisor Camilo Tabulinar. Grand Master Cesar Go led the grand officers in a wreath-laying ceremony at the MH del Pilar monument. . A five-panel exhibit titled "Marcelo H. del Pilar, Father of True Filipino Masonry" was donated by IGLPI to the MH del Pilar Shrine in Cupang, San Nicolas, Bulacan, during the observance of the patriot's 115th death anniversary on July 4. IGLPI Joins 113th IndependenceDay Celebration Grand Officers, Past Grand Masters, Officers of Masonic District One, Lodge Officers, Ladies of IGLPI and the brethren joined the nation in celebrating the 113th anniversary of the declaration of Philippine independence on June 12 at the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite. The Fifth Masonic District One annual convention, hosted by Freedom Lodge No. 10, was held at Xevera Mabalacat in Mabalacat, Pampanga on May 21, 2011. Welcome ceremonies were held at the subdivision’s main plaza. Guest speaker was Mabalacat Mayor Marino P. Morales who spoke on the role of Masons in nation building and the programs being undertaken by his municipality on its way to cityhood. A short parade was held to the Xevera clubhouse, venue of the plenary session. Masonic District Supervisor VW Camilo Tabulinar called the convention to order at nine o’clock in the morning. In the ensuing proceedings a proposal to redefine the term “suspension for non-payment of dues”, amending section 3,Article XIV; Section 9, Article IV of the Uniform Code of By-laws for Member Lodges and their corresponding provisions in the Administrative Code was received for submission to the Legislative Council. Another proposal, this time to revise the format of monthly lodge reports was remanded to the District Council for further study before it is endorsed to the Executive Council. The assembly also received an update from MWB Manuel Carranza, Jr. PGM, chairman of the special committee on rituals. MWB Carranza announced the assignments of Lodges chosen to exemplify the rituals of the three degrees, prior to their final approval during the Grand Assembly in November. He also distributed soft copies of the proposed Manual of Works to all Masters of the Lodges. In another development, MWB Joseph Capuyan, PGM briefed the delegates about his proposed Manual of Protocol which was likewise, subject for approval during the November Grand Assembly. Grand Master Cesar Go concluded the proceedings with his short message and closed the convention at one in the afternoon. Next year's convention host is Cavite Lodge No. 2, Cavite City. A seminar on family life, titled “The Advocacy of Men Loving their Wives” was organized by Bagong Ilaw Lodge No. 6 with the sponsorship of Revicon Max, on May 13, 2011 from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.at the Naval Training Facility at Sangley Point, Cavite City. Part of the lodge’s health and family advocacy programs, the seminar was attended by more than 150 navy personnel as well as brethren from IGLPI lodges in Cavite. |
